About the event
The Victory 5 Road Race is a celebrated annual event that attracts runners of all levels from across the UK. First held in 1946 to honour Portsmouth’s rich maritime heritage, the race has become a cornerstone of the city’s sporting calendar.
Taking participants on a scenic 5-mile route around Lakeside, the Victory 5 is known for its friendly atmosphere and well-organised set-up. It offers a perfect blend of competitive racing and community spirit, welcoming both seasoned athletes chasing personal bests and newcomers looking for an enjoyable challenge.
This year marks the final time the event will be held on the current Lakeside course. From next year, the race will move to a brand-new, even faster and more scenic route starting along the picturesque Foreshore, passing around the Mount Batten Centre, and finishing back at Lakeside. The new course promises to build on the event’s strong legacy…
